TheRec Grand canyon also called “Canyon des Pradals” is situated in the Massif of Caroux in the Hérault department near the Massif Central at the heart of the Natural Park “du Haut Languedoc”. (in the area of Colombières sur Orb, Mons-la-Trivalle)…
The first part of the river is deeply incised and comprises 2 toboggans with several possibilities of jumping, non compulsory. An abseiling on 15 meters is possible on a sloping slab. Further away, in a wonderful setting, jumps and toboggans are calling you !
The highlight of the show takes place on the last part with a descent in via ferrata to go until a toboggan in a waterfall and a nice 7 meters jump. In order to maximize your trip, discover the splendid Gorges of Héric and numerous hiking trails in Mons la Trivalle where you can also find something to eat at “l’Auberge du Caroux”.

The Canyoning Circuit :
We are here at the heart of the “Haut Languedoc” in a majestic and preserved environment. After a 20 to 25 minutes walk without difficulty, we directly arrive in the Gorges with a series of playful toboggans and jumps.
Still deep down within the spectacular Gorges, you get through toboggans and other funny jumps.
This Canyon, as the one in La Clue Du Terminet, is very adjustable, allowing everyone to enjoy the activity according to their skills and motivations.
The fourty minutes walk is on a slope, therefore anticipate a little final effort before ending around a toast.
We provide you :
The integral noprene (5,5 mm) wetsuit, a harness and a helmet.
Do not forget :
a pair of trainers, a swimsuit, and some water
Our prices include :
Necessary equipment and the supervision of the activity by a qualified instructor. The pictures of your activity are available for free. All our little extras we can provide you will be presented to you at the end of this section.
Duration of the descent :
To descend the Canyon, it lasts about 2 hours and a 50 minutes walk.

Practice Conditions :
You have to be able to swim 25 meters and be able to immerse yourself. No contraindication to the practice of sports.
Schedule :
Everyday on mornings and afternoons. However this site is much less visited in the morning.
